Michael Salvo

Michael J. Salvo’s recent research has focused on the rhetoric of sound. With Thomas Rickert, he recently explored sound’s contribution to the making of new media worlds that people can inhabit. Professor Salvo has been working in New Media since the dawn of the web: working with Mick Doherty and others, he founded Kairos, an online journal, which has been exploring new media worlds since 1996. He is Assistant Professor of Professional and Technical Writing in Purdue’s Rhetoric and Composition Program, where he teaches classes in new media and usability.
